Will the H5 bird flu be the new covid in Trump’s 2nd term?

Because of Trump’s poor handling of covid a lot of Americans died. And America had a higher death rate than most countries.

I think it will be the same with the H5 bird flu (but it will be chickens). Trump also said a lot of ridiculous things about covid like – come summer it will disappear. So maybe he will say something equally ridiculous about H5 bird flu like – come thanksgiving it will disappear. Trump also had a lot of ridiculous cures and I am sure it will be the same this time.

A big difference this time is with covid there was infectious disease experts in the WH – now there aren't because Trump fired them (and or sued them).

I should add that H5 bird flu can jump from bird to human.

Cheers and happy weekend!

Quick, inject all the birds with bleach or Hydroxychloroquine (trump's sure-fire cure for Covid)

The bird flu will cause many human deaths (totally preventable) because trump has no idea what he's doing.  he's just a charlatan who enjoys the spotlight.  he could be stopped, but his base cares more about kissing his *** more than they do about human lives.

We may never know. Trump is doing his best to control all communications from federal health agencies to the public. With Covid, there was a significantly higher death rate in red states, so if history repeats itself, Democrats will start to outnumber MAGA. There were some fairly comprehensive studies done, and even among registered voters, there were more excess deaths (deaths that exceeded the norm in pre-covid times), among registered Republicans than among registered Democrats. If and when the budget cuts to Medicaid and Medicare are enacted, which seems likely by next month, many people from both parties may have difficulty getting healthcare. And when poorer, rural areas and small towns start losing clinics and hospitals that currently rely on Medicare and Medicaid to pay their bills, it will be a much bigger impact.

No. They are working up something new in Wuhan as we speak.

Bird flu has been around for years...they need to stop killing the chickens.

A variant of H5N1 has spilled over into dairy cows in Nevada and Arizona. Scary part is Trump has dismantled the agency's and fired the people that could help control it. But don’t worry – Trump probably has a plan – blame Biden and distract the media with ridiculous claims.
    Cheers and happy weekend

Maybe we'll be lucky and Trump will get a burger made from beef riddled with H5N1 and he'll have to be put down.

Actually it is almost 1000 herds across 16 states. And yes, humans have caught it approx 50.

Cook your food and you will be fine.

Maybe Trump will claim that if you marinate your meat in bleach everything will be fine. Cheers!

The real danger is that if we don't stop it now, it can easily mutate into a strain that is much more easily  transmitted to humans. Most of the cases of human infection have been in Asia, but starting last year it has spread to the US. Cases are low now, but that's how any pandemic starts. And since not all cases are reported,  the numbers could be higher. The virus can be fatal and it is not just the big farms that are affected. People with a few chickens in their yard have been infected by handling birds, feathers or droppings, or through the air. While cooking kills the virus, it will take extreme vigilance to ensure that  hands, utensils and surfaces are meticulously sanitized.

Again, the goal should be to stop it before it becomes another pandemic.
