Do you ever wonder who’s side Trump is on?

The US has threatened to cut off Ukraine’s access to Starlink the global satellite network that has proven essential on the battlefield – if Kyiv does not accept the White House’s deal to exchange its rare earth minerals for continued security guarantees, according to anonymous sources.

Oh well there goes the neighborhood.

I do not have a single doubt about whose side Trump is on. His own. He will do anything no matter how corrupt or cruel in order to increase his own wealth and power. I was going to comment on people who believe otherwise, but I don't want my post deleted.

Trump is a bully and will do and/or say anything - true or not - to get what he wants.  He doesn't care whether or not Ukraine remains a democracy.  He doesn't care that Ukraine stands up to dictator Putin.  He doesn't care about anything other than Trump - and that includes not really caring about this country.  He is not honorable, moral or righteous nor does he have any other positive trait by which most of us live.  He is a slimy swamp creature who has conned a sufficient number of people that voted him into office and that makes them no better than him.

Yeah plus he is ugly and he stinks.

Bet if Trump does cut off starlink he will do it with little warning – one moment they will have it and the next moment they won’t.

I’m hoping that other Countries step up and give Ukraine something similar to starlink and pump up their military aid. Trump is asking for 500 billion dollars worth of rare metals – and once he has it will keep his end of the deal or just demand more?

    Cheers and happy weekend!

I wouldn't trust Trump to keep his end of any deal.  Trump claims the US has spent $350 billion on Ukraine.  I don't believe it is that much, so to ask for $500 billion in rare metals is outrageous.

It's around $75B to date. Looking at this 'deal ', it looks like Putin is the real beneficiary. He gets out of a losing war, possibly gets to keep some land, and regroup and finish the job in a few years. As for Trump, he can brag about being the one to end the war and have our aid repaid.. Even if the minerals are not accessible or the cost of mining them is higher than they are worth, Trump can brag about it, because so many people don't look at his claims clearly. And as a side note, is he sharing those minerals with Europe,  which has provided about $100B in aid to Ukraine?

Any deal that Trump makes will likely benefit Putin more than Ukraine.  As for the minerals, I doubt the deal would give any of those funds to Europe.

From what I understand,  Poland pays the monthly fees for Starlink. It's possible Starlink could loose some of its European customers base if they allow this to happen.

Not suggesting anything, but USAID was investigating Musk and Starlink before it was shut down. There was some concern about whether Russia has access to Ukraine's Starlink. A Russian drone with a Starlink terminal was shot down in Ukraine.

Trump just laid off 2000 USAID workers and put 1000’s more on leave – maybe because they dared to investigate Musk. I’m pretty sure if Musk wanted to he could find out if Russia was using starlink and put a stop to it – but he won’t. Cheers!

Starlink lost 100 satellites in January, due to decaying orbits and collisions with space junk. So Starlink might not even be a thing for much longer.

I have never had a doubt as to whose side he's on - his own.  He panders to the wealthy, as money is his god (just behind himself).  He infuriates and/or abandons our allies and them chums up to our enemies (Russia, Iran, N. Korea).    Listen to the man talk - it's crystal clear that he hasn't a clue as to what he's doing.  he thinks that TV and movie characters are real.  he listens to fools he's seen on TV or who have bought him off.  he has no "plan"  except to plunder the world for all he can get - and he doesn't care how many people die in the process.  he spews blatant lies and false promises and his worshippers eat it up like candy.  They know full well he's a charlatan, but they are too self-deluded to care.  Unfortunately, by the time (IF) they come to their senses , it will be too late.

Turns out the minerals Trump wants in Ukraine can't be delivered even if Zelensky wanted to.

According to the UN the mineral deposits are in one region that Kiev has had no control over in 10 years and the other is an active war zone. But I’m sure Trump won’t except that and cut off starlink anyway.
    Cheers and happy weekend!

Not really, unless his billionaire buddies or family member benefit Trump, he doesn't care about them. His voters no longer are relevant and as for America, his investments are global, he doesn't care where he can make money.
