As opposed to merely doing your job, have you ever lovingly administered medical care to anyone?

Yes, for a lifetime. Now all she wants is for everyone to make it easy for her to drink; sit in her chair and be waited on.  She refuses any real medical help, cus's out her nurses, leaves against medical advise, refuses to stay in a hospital.
A neighbor who had a mother and two alcoholic husbands recommended, tough love.  Said she has to get sick and tired of being sick and tired.  Have tried everything else.  It's hard to back away when I've always run to the rescue, but obviously that didn't work nor was it appreciated for anyone who's tried to help her.

    Perhaps you have a suggestion?

I suggest you might consider attending an Al-Anon (for those with loved ones who drink) meeting if you haven't tried the meetings

Numerous occasions to my wife, our children and our grandchildren. I'm not a medical professional so I've never been required to administer it to anyone else.

Just to family members.  I am not in the medical profession.

Not unless you count putting on a band-aid.  I have lovingly cared for people who had medical conditions, but generally leave medical care to professionals.

“. . . but generally leave medical care to professionals.”

Didn’t you recently offer to rearrange my bone structure, Doctor Jane S?

Not lovingly and certainly not in a medically approved way.

Call it a whim on my part, but it seems as if I work a lot harder at  our relationship than you do. Grrrrrr.

No, I have never administered medical care to anyone, as I'm physically unable to do so.

I don't know if this counts but I administered the Heimlich maneuver to a stranger-to-me in a restaurant.
