The New York Auto Show opened today. Have you seen the new Genesis X Gran Equator vehicle?

The only vehicle I've seen so far, the ugliness of which is beat only by the Cybertruck.

    That is an ugly car – bet Kitt (from Knight Rider) wouldn’t give it the time of day.

    They sell it as a car for offroading in luxury – I find that kind of silly.
    Might as well add that once I sat in the Batmobile from the BatMan TV series at a autoshow. I kind of wanted to sit in the Munster Mobile too - but they kicked me out for sitting in the Batmobile.

    To be fair, the Genesis hasn't actually fallen apart while driving anywhere. At least not yet.

    I will still take the cybertruck.  At least it is a work horse.

    That think looks like a old Gremlin.

    More like a decrepit old nag. They have a bad habit of falling apart while on the road, or have you forgotten why every single one of them was recalled?

    A worhorse?  The doors fall off while in motion because they're put together with glue.  That workhorse needs to be sent to the glue factory.

    So, it's ok for the doors to fall off as long as it can pull something heavy?  Got it.

    The Cybertruck’s 11,000-pound towing limit just got put to the test.

    We’ve already seen range tests with the Cybertruck carrying 6,000 pounds, but JerryRigEverything maxed out the Cybertruck’s 11,000-pound capacity in a new video that has the EV pickup pulling a Hummer.

    The trip, which was done in sub-freezing temperatures, lasted 90 miles before the Cybertruck’s battery ran out of juice. To compare, one Cybertruck owner towing 6,000 pounds got around 111 miles of range.

    I said the cypertruck out pulled a F350 not a little 1/2ton F150. 
    And it did in Austin TX in 2023. It outpulled all others with the F350 coming in 2nd.  They all pulled a 40,000 tractor.

    And yes,  if we are talking workhorse, it is about the work not the panel which I would just put a screw in and call it good.

    Cars are held together with nuts, bolts, screws and MiG welded joints. Toys are held together with glue.
    The exception being a Toyota - I've never driven a real Ota.

    "Tesla is in a sticky situation. On Thursday, it issued a recall for nearly every single Cybertruck it's manufactured to date because their stainless steel body panels could fly off while driving, providing other motorists on the road a sharp-edged Mario Kart obstacle to dodge during their morning commute.

    The Elon Musk owned automaker definitely has a few screws loose, but that's not why these panels are detaching. According to a regulatory filing, the issue is caused by the shoddy glue used to attach the angular pieces of the Cybertruck's exterior, specifically a lengthy portion above the side windows connecting to the vehicle's roof known as the cant rail."
