Is this to counter the devil's representative on earth also being American?

Well, he is certainly no Trump fan, which is a good sign.

Not that I'm religious, but I honestly don't know how any good faith Christians of any denomination can see what Trump does, and feel comfortable. He's the manifestation of everything that's bad about human nature.

The basis of every religion is empathy. He has none.

I imagine some (edited) of Trumps support is grounded in a certain denomination of Protestantism. This post was edited by Pet Eater at May 9, 2025 11:04 AM MDT

I'm sure he will say it had something to do with that offensive photo on Truth Social of him as Pope.

There are those that say Pope Leo's statements about JD Vance and Trump immigration policies influenced the selection. So, it's the same as giving him credit for Mark Carney's win.

I  am not Catholic. So really do not care that he is American.
I have not heard much about him and but what I have heard sounds good.

I think he was a great pick for these troubled times.
I like that he is a twitter user that is not afraid to speak about what he believes in (and or) the wrongs that are happening in the world. I bet his twitter followers increased by the millions since yesterday. Cheers and happy weekend!

I got a feeling that just like the Blues Brothers this new Pope will help a lot of people see the light. Cheers and happy weekend!

Now this is weird.  I haven't been able to open many YouTube videos, but I was able to open this one.  Go figure.

Makes me wonder what the Lord had in mind when he created Donald Trump.  Happy weekend to you, too.

Maybe the Lord didn’t create Trump.
    Maybe it was someone else.
    Wonder who that could be?
    Cheers and happy weekend!

If a man is born in a stable, that doesn't make him a horse. He's a Peruvian national by choice and has served several years as Cardinal Archbishop of Lima.

Not sure what your point is, but Pope Leo has dual citizenship.
