The other thing is, our Stark Trek idealization is impossible, so, what's the point of this idea to travel to Proxima Centauri?

  • These probes would carry instruments to study the planet's atmosphere, surface, and potential for life.

  • Laser Propulsion:
The Breakthrough Starshot project proposes using a massive array of lasers on Earth to propel the tiny probes, allowing them to reach Proxima Centauri at speeds up to 20% the speed of light.

  • Travel Time:
Even at these speeds, the journey to Proxima Centauri would still take around 20 years.
+6Is Proxima Centauri really this distant from the main system it orbits ?

With current technology, traveling to Proxima Centauri, the closest star to Earth, would take an estimated 75,000 years. Proxima Centauri is 4.2 light-years away, and even the fastest spacecraft we have built, Voyager 1, would take that long to reach it.

We can only dream for now....

The universe is so huge, it would  be awesome to be able to send spacecrafts to neighboring star systems to try and map those planets
