I can't mention the one as I don't know them all. We will be able to follow Trump though, and to make it simple keep track on his top 10 campaign promises:

    1. ‘Build a wall’ — and make Mexico pay for it
    2. Temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States
    3. ‘Bring manufacturing (jobs) back’
    4. Impose tariffs on goods made in China and Mexico
    5. Renegotiate or withdraw from the North American Free Trade Agreement and Trans-Pacific Partnership
    6. ‘Full repeal of Obamacare’ and replace it with a market-based alternative
    7. Renegotiate the Iran deal
    8. Leave Social Security as is
    9. Cut taxes
    10. ‘Bomb’ and/or ‘take the oil’ from ISIS

Lets see how many of them he keeps. I've heard several of them are already doubtful even before he's taken the oath.

I don't assume or expect that anyone knows then all, I'm merely asking if someone has kept a high percentage of campaign promises, and who holds the record for the highest.

I really don't know that much about for instance politicians on some of the other continents. I know some will be smarter than others with the kind of promises they give, as they know they will have to face the voters again.

Rather low as they will be his top 10, not just randomly picked together. Hmm. Voters seems to have believed him. We have seen some of them here inside aM too. A blindly trust that he will deliver. the real fun starts when we look at SCOTUS appointments. I'm really looking forward to see his nominations and compare them to his list presented pr to election. This was the main concern for a lot of GOP voters to stay loyal to him as they feared what liberal appointed judges could mean for a more progressive America.

  • yep! Ghengis Khan ... He promised loot rape and plunder and delivered in spades ... As a politician he was successful ... Not a particularly good role model for today's aspiring wannabes, true. .. But he was honest

  • Ok... Fight time :)
If Von Clauswiz ... Or however it's spelt.. can say that economics is warfare carried on in a different fashion than I can apply the same to politics ... Anyway, on a different level I disagree ... Both trump and GK shared the same negotiating viewpoint of my way or the highway ... I think there's more similarities than differences ... Your turn now!

    Thank you.

Two people having the same or closely similar views does not automatically mean that they also share professions, advocations or titles.

    Tag, you're it!

  • Very true. .. But in this case world domination is a shared goal me thinks ... As regards the vocation from which it springs. . This can be a determining factor ... world domination of a new life saving medical intervention would be a good thing .... remaking the world in your image probably not so good

  • I hope this doesn't sound bad.. but UK politicians dont keep all their promises but they do keep way more than some i think. I recall I voted for Labour - Tony Blair JUST ONCE because the green and environmental people understood he would give greater protection to wildlife and the environment... Unfortunately he turned out to be one of the worse we could have voted for as he in actual fact watered down what protection there was.. so that was a LIE and he proved a total disaster.. but in fact he did keep most of his promises and actually most of them do..

THis doesn't make them better.. and I am not pretending our politicians are fabulous but it is true that they tend not to make such wild or exaggerated claims in the first place so on the one hand they have less to live up to but on the other hand they don't have to lie as much.

  • IT'S similar down here ... We have a tendency to kill at the ballot box those we don't like ... and bring directly elected they know they're jobs are on the line
