Yes...I was at a lumber yard years ago and went to the small shack to ask the attendant a question. She was lying on the floor with her right foot bleeding heavily from all of the veins sliced open. Se had apparently been cut when she cut a steel wrapping band and it sprung around. People were standing around gawking and not doing anything...Nobody had called 911. I went into the shack and grabbed her foot with great pressure. I yelled for somebody to call 911. Fortunately there was a fire station about a half mile away. Had I not been there she could have bleed out. I told the manager to make sure all of his employees wear steel toe boots.
Yes. My downstairs neighbor's smoke detector was sounding. She insisted it was nothing and asked me to turn it off for her. I called the FD anyway and they found a smoldering fire in a plastic garbage can. It could have been tragic.
