Discussion»Questions»Politics» Is Alt Right the politically correct word for white supremacist? Is White Nationalist the politically correct word for Nazi?
In some ways, yes. "Alt right" just refers to right wing thought that isn't in line with establishment Republicanism or conservatism, and this can include white nationalism. Likewise "white nationalist" is simply a softer term for "white supremacist", implying that the nationalist part of it is somehow more important than the supremacy part of it, but it's not fooling anyone.
Nope. Alt-Right is an actual term used by a very small group of people. They call themselves that. Hillary used it so people would google it and be horrified by what they found.
No. The alt right is a spectrum. Maybe 1% are white nationalist. The alt right believe in the cultural supremacy of western values. Here is Milo Yiannopoulos explaining the alt right.
The white nationalists are unpleasant people but I'd say Nazis were far more nasty and extreme.
There are many countries around the world that are racial nationalist. For example, Israel is Jewish and nationalist. Zimbabwe is black nationalist.
There are many other mono racial societies that seem to want to remain so such as South Korea and Japan. I'm not sure how much of that is racial identity and how much is cultural identity.
I think making race part of your identity is really really stupid. Though, like so much in life, it's only considered evil when white people do it.
