PET said he "loves debt". So he doesn't give a rat's a** what we spend or borrow. Congress has to approve of course. Will he strongarm them?

  • Congress has the power of the purse and it is plain silly to think PET will strong arm them in any way shape or form.  PET has zero leverage to strong arm anyone other than his own employees.  I fully expect though that Congress will pass a spending bill that will include hundreds of billions in infrastructure projects and expect deficit spending for the next 4 years.  But I also don't see that as all that bad.  Just look that the stock market jumped 1,000 points since Trump was elected....that means hundreds of billions of dollars created in our economy which means some of that 2 trillions dollars that has been sheltered on the sidelines during Omaba's tenure is flowing back into the economy.  I do not though expect the economy's performance to equalize the deficit spending sure to come but time will tell if PET can perform the surgery on our budget as he said he would do on the campaign trail.

Why do you quote out of context like that? Do you really think people are so stupid and lazy that they won't google it and see that you completely mischaracterized his remarks?

Trump, being a real estate mogul, built his empire on understanding debt and how to use it in a positive way. He was saying he knows how to restructure debt to overcome financial problems.

Trump didn't build his empire by being reckless with either spending or borrowing. So if anyone can help dig the U.S. out of its black hole of debt, it's Trump.
