What the hell does Dr. Carson know about housing and urban development? I could see him possibly being made Surgeon General, a subject with which he at least has some familiarity, but housing and urban development? Of course, in H&UD, no one will know if he's napping.
No, I believe the Carson pick is a bone tossed to the Gunz/God/Gayz/Abortion social conservatives. It's also possible he's the Token House N*gg*r appointed to cabinet-level job so Trump's supporters can claim, "Look, Trump's not racist. He appointed Carson to HUD director!" (similar logic applied to the nomination of relative non-entity Clarance Thomas to SCOTUS to replace retiring Thurgood Marshall). I'm not privy to the Trump team's decisions, but those are the two rationales I can think of. There is ZERO evidence to suggest Carson knows jack s**t about housing policy.
The Kushner appointment is nepotism, pure and simple.
