  • Yeah,  you go get one and keep paying the bill.   It's like magic.

They break and you need to buy a new one.  My wand did not make it magically repair itself.  That has happened more than once.  I don't buy the 200 dollar models.  I have a 45 dollar model.

    Not magical.  At all.

You can certainly keep your number forever as long as it's a cell phone association.  If you try to port the number to a landline, the number has to be part of the local exchange.  You can port your landline number to your cell phone as well. There also is no problem porting your current cell number to a new mobile carrier. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at November 29, 2016 12:29 PM MST

I have had several little cell phones.  They always tell me I can keep the number and when they try and do it for me, an hour goes by and I get itchy and start thinking it is far easier just to give everyone my new number than go through this.

My momma is 86. She still has the SAME phone number as when I was born. That's 63 years. Well, they added the area code and three digit prefix numbers. Wanna give her a call?  (555) 555-5555.

My First Number in Chicago:  DIkens 2-8668.    They didn't even have area codes back then, so your granny doesn't have the same number.

No one answers.  I promise. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at November 29, 2016 12:58 PM MST

  • I've kept my cell phone number for well over 10 years... I wouldn't mind but it's not even a very *nice* easily remembered number  I am just a sentimental

I've had 3 addresses in this town and the same landline number over 20 years.

Mobile number is over 15 years; lent it to mum for a period but after 12 years it died and number transferred to new one.
