Could endless questions about the same old BS politics be hampering people from wanting to use this site?

Follow up question.   Should people who want top blather about politics ad nauseam try and take it the Debate room?   At least once in awhile?

Do y'all really think you are making any difference speaking your mind when you're just boring people away with the nonstop questions about the same thing over and over again?  What's the point?

  • The only one making this about the person named in your post is YOU excon.  Congratulations you managed to make another contradictory post.    You mention we should be banned for talking about other people while you yourself are the only one who is making it about an individual member.

Interesting. Tactic, censorship, or why was your reply for me including my response for you deleted?

I see you copied your half part but not my reply somewhere else inside this thread. You, the OP and myself will know what my reply for you was. Sorry you didn't want to leave it in public for others to read. Goodbye, I don't play these foul games. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at December 12, 2016 8:15 AM MST

    Hello again, SH:

Cause I put it in the wrong place..  I think it's there now.  When I delete stuff and move it, it seems like all the replies get deleted too..

    But, I wasn't AVOIDING anything..

Reverse psychology might work on others. Guess what? I'm not others. You censored my reply and it's no longer there. Looks like you were the one bailing out. But I understand. Goodbye.

    Hello again, SH:

I have NO idea HOW to delete YOUR posts..  Do you know HOW to delete mine???  Of course not.  I TOLD you why your response isn't there..  When I MOVED my post, your responses SHOULD have gotten moved too.  They DIDN'T.  I didn't DO that..

But, you think I'm LYING..  So, it IS a GOOD time to end it..  You're right.  I was NOT up on your no name calling policy.  I guess you're not up on my no lying policy

You just showed how to do it, and like a real pro. And you did not move it, we cannot move it. We can copy and delete the original and next post the copy somewhere else, or do you have access to tools the rest of us doesn't have. BS.

Anyway, I made my reply for you and you did apparently not like it and have not responded on any of it, as only half of my first comment for you.

As for not looking into the other person and their traits you seem to have missed out on the part of me not taking any BS and manipulation by use of reverse psychology, and/or or sarcastic remarks.

I haven't said you were lying, however I have concluded you deleted my reply by copying your own comment and next deleting it before taking it somewhere else inside this thread. You didn't show the decency to let me know beforehand to ensure I could copy my reply and place it again the new place in the thread you found for your post. See, that's the kind of games I do not play. One thing to agree on is ending this conversation. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at December 12, 2016 10:46 AM MST

    Hello again, SH:

You're right..  It IS a way to delete others posts.. But, it just doesn't happen to ONE response..  ALL the responses to that post get deleted.  It happened inadvertently when I moved my post earlier, but I suppose it could be done for pure meanness.   It should be noted that I DON'T win arguments by censoring people.  I win them because my argument is strong..

I also take responsibility for putting my post in the wrong place..  I have this need to use Tahoma font, and I have to go to the original answer box before I find the option to USE it..  Once my post looks the way I want, USUALLY I copy and paste it to where it BELONGS.  Sometimes, in my zeal to make my point, I just press the reply button, and it's IN the wrong place.  If I pay attention, I catch it right away, copy it, delete it, and move it to where it belongs...  If I didn't catch it right away, and people respond, their responses also get deleted.   So, I'm faced with the choice of screwing up the thread BECAUSE my response was in the wrong place, or MOVE it, and take the wrath of people like you.  Maybe there IS a way I can move it ALL, but I don't know how.

Finally, I WOULD respond to what you said, but it got deleted.. In fact, I think I DID respond, but that got deleted too.  I'm not running away.  And, NO, I'm not gonna stop using caps.

  • "  It IS a way to delete others posts.. But, it just doesn't happen to ONE response.."
    Admission! lol

"It should be noted that I DON'T win arguments by censoring people.  I win them because my argument is strong.. "
According to you alone.   You can say you win an argument.  Yet it doesn't make it so.   Winning can't be decided by the person making the the argument.  First rule of debating and known by anyone who has a clue about what real discussion is. It's how children having a temper-tantrum try and make themselves believe they are winning.

Sorry excon.  Your "reasons" don't hold up.  If someone replies to your BS, maybe it would be best to leave it where it is and just acknowledge your mistake instead of trying to hide it.

    Hello again, Glis:

The reason you DON'T win, is that you don't engage in HONEST debate.  In other words, you cheat.
And, you do it in front of everybody... You selective cherry pick my words to make your point.  I dunno WHO you think you're fooling..  Here are the words you neglected to re-post:

"It happened inadvertently when I moved my post earlier, but I suppose it could be done for pure meanness."

I get, that you think I was LYING...  I get, that you think I need to CENSOR my opponents in order to win..   I mean, how else could be beat the likes of you??

    Talk about digging holes...

Speaking of marbles... have you all lost yours? I haven't seen this kind of nonsensical back and forth since that other site... and look what happened to it!

I think that there are good points all around here. Yes, the PET posts get old fast, yes, I'm sure they may well keep some people from enjoying the site as much as they might otherwise. I attempted to DO something about it, as JA and Old School suggested. Yes, it's wrong to talk crap about other members, even if you don't mention them by name. I wonder if anyone has tried to actually talk to the PET poster, ask her politely to consider changing it up, post in the debate section, etc.? Maybe she is enjoying being the cause of all of this discussion?

Everyone with any sense knows that changing someone's opinion about anything, most especially politics, is nearly impossible. Most people don't want to see things from another side, challenge their own beliefs, etc. And most people don't want to be honest with themselves about that, or any other damned thing. That's the way they stay sane, or functionally insane, maybe.

Alrighty then... everybody ready to take their marbles and put them back in their heads? I'm going to figure out how to stop getting notifications on this thread before I start losing mine!

    Peace!

  • As the OP  I can assure you this thread is not directed at her or any one person.

If the person being referred to thinks that or anyone else does.  I sincerely apologize as that's not the intention.   As OP I would greatly appreciate she be left out of it.

  • Are your buttons being pushed? Sorry dude but try a slice of humble pie instead of having a glass heart all the time.

WHY don't YOU try to LEARN how to USE  CAPS like an adult?   It's RUDE AND INSULTING to always be  YELLING.
IT doesn't MAKE YOU anymore right OR prove your point better.  IT only makes it EASIER to dismiss your comments as it's CHILDISH.

Saving the world.. LMAO.    Not on a small social media site you're not.   Even on big ones that reach large audiences like Facbook it amounts to F***all in the real world.  People saving the world don't have time for this.  They are too busy digging wells in Africa and teaching children to read in Guatemala. • I wish they would take it there. I haven't been on here as much lately because it just isn't fun around here now. Reading the other posts on this Q, if I were new to this site, I'd leave it as well. We might as well just rename the site to politicalMug.

  • IDK, there isn't anything wrong with questions about politics when it's to have a discussion.   How many of them are actually about that though as opposed to just grandstanding and indulging in a sense of self-importance and superiority?

    What do YOU care anyway?

Are you the new site director?   If you don't like the questions, instead of knocking those who make questions, make your OWN.

This is a freedom of speech site.  We can ask anything we damn please and if you don't like it, ask your own questions.  Nothing irks me more than people who complain about this kind of nonsense.  You don't like the question, don't answer it.  Ask your own questions.  When you can come up with 30 questions a day every day, then you can criticize people who manage that and have managed that for years.

There are plenty of people on here.  We used to have 10 times as many and it was not any more or less fun than it is now.

  • " We can ask anything we damn please "

No one said any different Sharonna.    We get asked to take our questions to other areas to give other people some room all the time.   I've never seen you say boo about that.

30 questions asking the same thing just phrased differently isn't really creating more content.   As said before it isn't about that person.   The behavior that is in question however is being exemplified very well by someone who came on here today though.

I like discussing politics, but very few threads on here are actual questions, just thinly disguised passive-agressive opinions that invite little or no discussion (i.e. dissenting opinions and actual discourse).  I pass most of those by.

As to where they should be posted...I like having a page that shows all posts.  I realize others do not.  I also like having categories, which there are.

I haven't been very active lately, but it is because I have things going on in my life that are more important than any online forum right now.
