What's your favorite Christmas song? Do you have a singer preference?

Mine is "Mary Did You Know"....I like Kenny Rogers and Wynonna's version best.

None. I hope they all burn in a fire to be forgotten forever by mankind as I slap an evil smile on my face for dramatic effect.

"Sleigh Ride" composed by Leroy Anderson

    - though it's originally an instrumental piece, words have been added to it. I much prefer the original instrumental version
    - I've read often that Anderson did not intend this to be a Christmas piece but it has become one
    - I like this particular performance of it but I'm unsure of the orchestra

    :)

No one favorite, but I love this arrangement of O Come Emanuel by the master,
    Steven Curtis Chapman.

So do I.  Chapman is such a talent of taking wonderful traditional songs and rearranging them in a whole new way.  His rearrangements of all of the Christmas Carols are wonderful.

  • Agreed! Because of this answer, I just switched on his "Christmas Is All In The Heart" and it still hasn't gotten old.

I was going to embed it, but *they* would have taken it down since it contains not nice language.

For fun - it's definitely Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

For serioius - Josh Groban's "O Holy NIght."  He makes the hair stand up on my arms when I hear his rendition.

  • Or, if you can't view it where you are (I think I found a way round that annoying little thing)
