Her 100 million seems to be rounded. According to this website, the 100 mil isn't that far off.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/us-kentucky-noahsark-idUSKCN0T12A320151112

Park officials said on Thursday the Ark would be part of a $91 million project that would sit on 800 acres and later add other biblically themed attractions. They said they are still seeking to raise another $6.5 million to complete it.

  • If residents benefit then good for them.  In an age (and possibly an area - I have no knowledge of Kentucky unemployment rates) when jobs are difficult to find an keep, a large number of people need all the help they can get.

Working for Disney may make one look silly, but it's still a job.  :)

There are worse environments MrWitch. Maybe we should all work in fantasylands. There unarmed blacks don't get regularly murdered by cops. Mutter mutter mutter. Thank you for your reply! :)

There's also a Noah's Ark in Wisconsin!  I loved going there on family trips when I was a kid!  There was also a restaurant on the way that put the food on a model train that delivered it to your table.  That was my favorite part of going on family trips.

Anyway I was at work today and there were some people talking about it on one of the religious stations but they said they don't have live animals on the ark in Kentucky but that made me think of something mean so I looked it up.

Noah's Ark in Kentucky would be a lot more realistic if the Ohio River were 99.8m or 327'5" above flood stage.  Sorry about that heathens and unsaved people from Cincinnati, they're not letting you in when that happens.

It's not the "real" Noah's Ark, is it? I might take a look at it if I happen to be in Kentucky already for some other reason, but I wouldn't go there especially to step aboard it.

No. I won't support a commercial venture. I don't have to visibly see a model of the biblical ark to be convinced of its existence. (Hebrews 11:1)

I did not know that Livvie.  Thank you for pointing that out. I just wonder if the proceeds from whatever the owners charge to get in will be used for charitable purposes rather than having the owners just get rich. Thank you for your information-filled reply and Happy Friday! :)

I'm thinking maybe the proceeds will be used for charitable purposes in which case it could be a good thing. I hope it wasn't built just to make the owners rich. I don't like to see religion used for that. I think it is unseemly. Thank you for your reply Autumn and Happy Friday! :)

Noah was before the Tribes of Israel. Before Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Noah was 10 generations before Abraham.
And all were invited on the Ark.

It rained for 40 days and 40 nights and I heard on the news that it costs 40 dollars to get in.  Hopefully that is for a family.

As a single guy I would not go, but I can see the value if you had a family.

At least it's a wholesome family event....

$40? For  whatever-sized family? Last I heard Disneyland costs over $100 so that $40 doesn't seem so bad. Not that I am comparing the two. I agree and hopefully the proceeds from tricket sales goes to charity. I personally don't like religion used to make folks wealthy. It doesn't seem appropriate. Thank you for your reply DCF and Happy Saturday. I don't know if you live in Dallas m'dear but if you do condolences on the terrible tragedy that has hit your town. I saw the Police Chief interviewed and he seems to be a really standup GOOD guy.
