Can you answer a question straightforward without attempting to divert the question and talk about another subject?

I "can," but will I? Really, you're asking a deeply philosophical question that pulls on the fundamentals of human nature, good versus evil, right versus wrong, and nature versus nurture. The real question here is a matter of will. I'd like to hear some responses to that.
