I didn't know about her death until I read your post here, Rosie G. Oh, my.
I realize people we don't know die every day and those deaths are just as important, but there is, at the least, and perhaps inaccurately, a feeling of "knowing" someone when they are famous. It's sad news to me, as has been so for so many famous people's deaths as of late.
To answer your question, I am not a parent. But I agree with you - - to me, it could only be really sad for a parent to experience his/her child's/children's death/s.
Sigh.

Carrie will always be Princess Leia to me as well as hundreds of millions or maybe even billions of others . She was only nineteen and smashingly good in that role. I heard about her death a little while ago and the first thing I thought about was Debbie and what she must be going thru. I had a bad feeling that Carrie was not going to make it. It is all so sad.

Yes, it must be very sad for a parent to see a child die before them. However, this points up that when you drink and do drugs from the time you're a young teen, it stresses the heart and early demise is not surprising.
That happened to my brother. He started drinking and taking drugs at a very young age, and didn't get his life together till he was 40. But the damage was already done and he had a stroke a few years later and left him in a wheelchair until he died a few years after that.
Precisely. She also had some mental conditions too Spunky. I'm not sure what but I believe struggled with depression I think and other things as well. Drugs never help but I guess at the time she thought they did. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday! :)

She left a great legacy though Priya. She played one of the most iconic roles ever created when she starred in Star Wars as Princess Leia. She was only nineteen and so good in that role. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday! :)
Debbie Reynolds passed away yesterday as asyou probably heard Priya. Maybe from a broken heart. A sad ending to a troublesome year for the world. 2017 hopefully will be better. Thank you for letting me know that your avatar is that of Princess Leia. I did not realize that. Nice.
Yes it's sad but even worse when the child is very young. In Carrie's case, it's a shame she had to hear the comments some people were making about how how she didn't age well. For God sake, not everyone ages gracefully, but for some people, they expect celebrities to.
I think most celebrities are used to being attacked for one thing or another. She probably learned how to brush it off and move on. She did leave an enormous legacy. Princess Leia in Star Wars is one of the most loved and iconic of characters. At nineteen she was wonderful in the role. I will always remember her for that. I don't know if what you say about her probably being able to shrug the hurtful comments off is accurate or not. I suppose only those in her inner most circle know for sure.
Sometimes we forget that even though celebrities may get accustomed to harsh scrutiny, they're still human. The public, as well as the media, can be a cruel bunch.
