No. The drivers should learn new skills and/or start a robot repair business. They need to uproot their life and start over. They should start a business. Those who don't make it, oh well.
Those ARE the remedies I'd suggest, of course.. Clearly, you don't like any of 'em.. If YOU were a driver who LOST his job to a robot, apparently the ONLY thing you'd DO about it, is go online and snivel.
Do you not think that his are real concerns? Do you think everybody has what it takes to start a business? And if they were to point out the injustices of being replaced by machinery, are they just sniveling? Do you post a question and then insult those you don't agree with?

I think everybody has the ability to fend for themselves. Starting a business isn't something everybody can do.. But, MOVING to where the jobs ARE, IS something that everybody can do. Learning a new skill is something EVERYBODY can do. Plus, I don't view radical change in the marketplace as an injustice. I view it as an opportunity. I got it.. Most people see the glass as half empty.
Would you like my answer better if I had said complain instead of snivel?? Or, do you think he WASN'T complaining??

Come on, man. Your ability to accomplish anything does not in any way reflect on the ability of others to do the same. You are one of the fortunate, you can see an obstacle and turn it into an opportunity. You have what it takes to make that transition. Not everybody can, for many reasons. I'd like to see how you would fare doing the kind of work that I do, with the kind of men that I manage, and see your reaction when you crap out. Should we all turn and call you a sniveler? Using the word sniveling, is a reflection on you and your sense of empathy. Do I think he was complaining? What if he was? Are you not with your reaction to his answer?

If I snivel, of course you can. But, I DON'T snivel. I didn't WANT this to be about me, but NOBODY, absolutely NOBODY has had to overcome more disadvantages than me. So, this isn't about me, or Mr. It's about what you do when faced with adversity.. Bromide does NOT wanna DO any of the things that will HELP him HELP himself. Clearly, he'd rather COMPLAIN about the injustice life has dealt him..
I'm sorry that you don't like the word I used. I'm NOT a gentile person..

Ex, first of all no, I would not call you a sniveler. I'd try to help you. Or I'd would try to find a spot where you can do well. Like I said, you are cut out of a tougher material Ex. You are stronger and would not let life defeat you. And that's fantastic. But can you really help it? Think about it, how much of that drive is your doing and not just part of your make up? Could you be a loser if you really put your mind to it. You couldn't. It's not in you. Some people are born to lead and take chances and risks, and come with a bag full of confidence and resilience. Others are not. Others are born to do the hard jobs, the fActory mind numbing work, of cubicle work. They don't want to lead the world, they just want to go to work and go home. Are they in any way less than you? I think that some of us are born with extra go getingness, not for us, but to share with those who don't have enough. Do you not think so?(sorry for the long response)
If you look, you'll see that this thread isn't about getting work. Bromide isn't stupid. He KNOWS how to get work. He probably HAS a great job. He just likes to pull my chain, and I like to pull his.
You weren't butting in.. I don't post just for Bromide.. It IS an interesting conversation for a page or two. Then people see it for what it is.. You're welcome anytime, though.
Maybe after I was hospitalized for extreme depression, anxiety, and suicidal behavior.
Then after I got out, I would file for unemployment (if that still exists). I might be able to survive a while on that and some savings.
If I was lucky I would try to find a low-paying job of some sorts. It would be harder because you used to be able to at least get a sales job at the mall.
I probably would end up getting some kind of terrible call center job if any of those aren't in India. Maybe some kind of window sales job until they saw I couldn't even convince someone to sell windows.
I probably would get cancer but not have health care, so I would slowly die.
This ISN'T rocket science.. If you don't KNOW where the jobs are, and what skills are required to get them, I can't help you. Why don't you try 10th grade again?
I provide help too. And, I have. Other than move to where the jobs are, I have NO other advice. If you're good at scrubbing floors, you'll make a LOT more scrubbing floors in a city where the economy is BOOMING.
If you want help, tell me WHY you don't wanna move.. What does your town have that is sooo great, that you're willing to GO broke, and STAY broke for?? Truly, I wanna KNOW..
