He won't last long - I give it 12 months at the outside before he's impeached (he's not as clever as Tricky Dick, who fell on his own sword. Trump will have to be pushed).

At the time of the election, two legal matters were pending over the fraudulent goings on at his bogus "university". He was able to make the civil fraud suit go away by throwing a bucket of money at it, the plaintiffs were bought off. The racketeering charge is different, that's a criminal matter and on current evidence that has been made public thus far, it looks like a slam dunk. Conviction for a class one felony practically guarantees impeachment, so congratulations, America - you just elected President Pence. Thank you for a thoughtful and helpful analysis in response to my question Sbf. Isn't that why Pence was picked? Trump has so many problems the powers that be KNEW he wouldn't last so they picked someone they could tolerate. I read that Trump will be impeached the day he is sworn in because of the conflicts of interests which are drowning him only he is too obtuse to realize it.  I wonder if it will involve multiple lawsuits or just one massive one?

Reagan was Governor of California first. Republicans elected him. Republicans also elected Arnold Schwarzenegger Governor of California. I don 't know of any  "celebrity" Dems elected JakobA . George Murphy, actor, was elected Senator in California and I believe he was a Republican too. What Dem celebrities are you thinking of since I can't think of one? Thank you for your reply JakobA. Also Ronald Reagan was the president of the Screen Actors Guild for many years and got his feet wet in politics during that time. While governor of California he gutted the public education system for college kids. I do not have fond memories of him in any way.  He was a typical average Republican. That's the best I can say for the man.

No one on that list ran for president JakobA. That is the point I am making here.

Who among them ran for president of the United States m2c? Once again you have conflated the question I asked with an answer you want to give whether it fits or not. It does not fit. Thank you for your reply  m2c and Happy Tuesday to thee.

Where does your question mention running for president? Your question implied that Democrats do not vote for celebrities. My list shows that is not the case.

Your question is it ironic that the GOP picked Trump?  No... because the GOP did NOT pick Trump. The American people did. The establishment GOP wanted nothing to do with him. They are fine with Send Our Jobs to other countries Free Trade deals. Fine with open borders. Etc.
