The news reports are fairly gruesome.

I am among the biggest critics of police misbehavior, but shooting police officers without provocation is not protest, it's murder. My condolences to the friends/family of the killed, and I hope those who survived with wounds make a speedy and full recovery.

I think american people finally snapped and went nuts.
If the reports of police brutality I read on the news are true, they have good reasons for being so angry, even if it is not a good way to show it.

A fifth officer has died, six more injured, as well as one civilian.

The protest was coming to an end and had been peaceful.  Those responsible for these murders have only served to make a bad situation worse.

What are you saying. Don't you LIVE there?  Or near there?  How do you not KNOW what is going on?

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/14/us/dallas-police-headquarters-shooting/index.html

In April, Hammond won custody of her grandson from her son. During the trial, she said, her son was delusional, ranting in court and telling the jury he knew where Osama bin Laden had been hiding before U.S. forces killed the al Qaeda leader. It's something he'd done before, she said, claiming to loved ones that he knew about news events before they happened.
In the past, his mother said, he'd talked about wanting to shoot up a school, but not hit any students, so that officials would learn they needed armed guards to protect children.
"We all said no. And he really did not like that we did not agree with him on that," she said. "And that was the first indication I had that he ... might be going down the route he went down (Saturday)."
Still, Hammond said, she expected that if her son turned violent, she would have been the target.
"I would have thought that I would have been the one that he singled out, since I got custody of his child," she said.

@Sharonna, I'm finally back. I'm 9 to 11 hours from Houston. Left Saturday. I came to relax. Today I was in Alpine, Texas. Checked out the beautiful mountains and their very cultured little town. Last night I was going to bed around midnight and checked Twitter. Everyone was going nuts. It reminded me of the movie "Helter Skelter". Police were getting shot all over the place. Several killed. Several in critical condition.

I was upset over it, especially as there had been 2 shootings before that. Wow! Tues., Wed., Fri. Too close together!

Today I left to go to find my peace in the mountains with friends and I did. There was no wifi and no data on my phone, so I don't know what else happened.

Prayer, being with nature, and being with friends is the best thing one can do when the world is too much with you.

Sharonna, why are you linking a story about a shooting that occurred in June of 2015?  The sniper from yesterday has been identified as Micah Johnson.

Dallas Shooting Suspect, Micah Johnson, ‘Upset at White People’

Mr. Johnson, an Army Reserve veteran who served in Afghanistan and lived in the Dallas area, had no criminal record, the police said. Investigators have not turned up any evidence that Mr. Johnson, who was black, had direct ties to the Black Lives Matter movement or to other political groups. But his Facebook page indicated support for the New Black Panther Party, a militant group that has advocated violence
