Yet another police shooting. This time snipers attack police in Dallas TX murdering 5 and wounding 7. What can be done to stop this violence?

Stepper... the police force sure doesn't operate like ISIS so I would say it is its own institution. It isn't more or less like anything else. It doesn't have to be compared to something for it to be so. My main thing is why bring up a terrorist organization at all if you didn't mean to compare it to the police force? I just don't get the comparison.

The problem for me is an institution means that police are collective as a whole. I do not feel like that is true. Collective would assume a lot of things.

The only true act of violence I believe is self defense and even that has it's grey areas, that is NOT including people who murder and then say self defense... it is not. Those cops didn't deserve to die because they were not involved in the incident. They were innocent. And their kids will have to deal with the after effects of having their mommy or daddy shot because of what those police officers did to that guy that didn't have anything to do with them.

I'll say it again it's like getting robbed and then taking your anger out on someone else who had nothing to do with it. You know who else does that? Abusers.

Most importantly for the shooter to admit (from what I hear) that they were solely guided by social media makes it even more sad.

Excon... nah that's just racism and there is no war (except a way to justify it in your mind) except the people who want to start race wars on both sides, if that's the case you are just eating out of the palm of their hands. 

I highly doubt the cops who got their lives taken away thought they were at "war." I think the only people who think that have a blame society attitude that most likely got them in trouble and they blame others because of it.

Stepper.. I see what you are saying now going back to read all of it. I just don't agree if I think I have it right but I may not. Not saying you said this but my opinion still stands. You still cannot go out to shoot someone who had nothing to do with it simply because you are angry.

If we all used that excuse there really wouldn't be anyone left.

It would have been a jump conclusion. An Arabic name wouldn't necessarily be the same as a jihadist operation. That's why we have investigators and not judge people simply by their name Adam. And I don't se any reason to use a smiley in this context. There isn't much to smile about with any mass shooting/assassination. But maybe that fits into your values/religion. Smh.

I think I know what you are trying to say, but the important thing is that COPS SHOULD NOT SHOOT PEOPLE, FULL STOP. IF THEY DO, THEY ARE COMMITTING MURDER AND THEREFORE THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE COPS, FULL STOP. I am going to have my say about this and I will not allow myself to become entangled in any spiderweb-like traps of uncalled-for grey areas. My views on this are totally black-and-white, and that's that. It has absolutely nothing to do with racism or anything even remotely along those lines.

It was a smile of pity( and a roll of my eyes) for a person locked in PC programing..   It was never a smile at the deaths of those shot in Dallas..
