my family it was pretty much a given to have a small glass of wine, beer, or a weak bloody Mary at holidays or weddings. I knew what it tasted like long before too.
I have a similar story to Sharrona's - my mum always allowed me to sip her sherry that she always drank when she was getting ready to go out somewhere.. and similarly we were allowed to try alc from a very young age..
I think for this reason I never saw it as a big deal.. I love a drink and am very good at drinking lol but I control it not the other way round
I never raided it. My dad started serving me alcohol with dinner when I was 12 so it wouldn't be a big deal to me when I was a teenager. When I became an adult at 18 but wasn't 21 yet I just gave my dad money for beer or wine and he went to the store to get it for me.
