Hello Rosie:
Behind us???? Nahhh.. This is going to be a HOT, and very dangerous summer. I'd stay indoors.
excon
So in a city full of guns located in a stand-your-ground state, armed police officers were murdered.
Does anyone still think this whole 2nd ammendment thing is working out?

Bible prophecy indicates that conditions will worsen as mankind heads towards the day of God Almighty-Armageddon. (revelation 16:14,16)
The worst is probably ahead. Some severe reforms are needed, and trouble usually follow when a government acknowledge that and start reforming. Trouble is that by Acknowledging it they open the door for excesses like that. If found I am sure the perpetrators will describe themselves as vigilantes (In the best Bronson movie tradition) and not in the least culpable for offing some of "those lousy cops" with neither trial nor any evidence to show that 'these' cops were any kind of lousy.
Oh excon you can't believe how depressed I am about all the violence in America. It is never-ending. I watched the Dallas Chief of Police being interviewed. Do you know when he took the job he FIRED 70 cops who didn't meet his standards? He has created a friendly dialog with the people and Dallas is noted for its excellent community relations between the police and the people they serve. So why in the he** did this person choose Dallas of all places to murder white cops? Makes no sense. Nothing makes sense. It's hopeless. We now have the distinct "benefit" of being there in person while the tragedy takes place thanks to livestreaming video. We get to see/hear
for ourselves what's going on. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday. (no happy face. Not in the mood)
The shooter said he was upset about blacks being murdered by white cops so that's why he wanted to take out white cops. Here's the thing though. When the Dallas police chief took over the job a few years ago he FIRED 70 cops who didn't meet his standards. He has created a climate of friendly interaction between the police and the community. The Dallas police department is noted for its excellence. Why on earth would such a city's police be the target for retaliation
? I don't get it. It is very depressing. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday.
Any idea when that will occur Autumn? How many more years of this lunacy must we in America endure? Thank you for your answer
m'dear.
The Dallas Police Department is a model of good policing JakobA. Its current police chief took over a few years ago and FIRED 70 cops who didn't meet his standards. He established a friendly relationship between the police and the community. The shooter said he was upset about white cops murdering blacks so he wanted to murder white cops. Why he chose Dallas is a mystery. Which makes it all the more depressing. Lunacy. Tragic
. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday.
It is dpressing and upsetting. I've read much about the Dallas police department and have the ut most respect for them.
I think several factors come in here, first being the shooter being outraged, secondly, the atmosphere being ideal for having having guns in a major metroplis where people are desensitized to people walking around openly with firearms. It's a shame these peoop people bare the brunt of someone so angry and disturbed. I'm not surprised that this happened thouhg. It was bound to occurr sooner or latter
I better invest in a good rake
i dont know much about what happened but hopefully it will stop
So you think the incident in Dallas occurred because of the 2nd Amendment? What "logic" lead you to that conclusion? Or is it just unbridled hatred for people that enjoy shooting sports? (This was not a case of "stand your ground", a principal of English common law often called the "Castle Doctrine". And unlike some of the other several States, "Stand your Ground" in Texas only applies to your home and other very limited areas, not to wherever you may be standing.)
By the way, the criminal perpetrator (there was only one, who really should have been a mental patient) specifically targeted WHITE police officers. He had military training and explosives in addition to the couple of firearms he apparently used. I seriously doubt that he would have had any difficulty in coming up with those weapons even if such were banned. I do wonder how many may have died, including the peaceful protesters (and they were peaceful and well within their Rights to be protesting) if he had resorted to using bombs instead of firearms and not targeting a very specific group?.
But in Dallas? I guess I could understand a police department that was antagonistic to the community and had a long history of mistreating folks badly but Dallas? That's what gets me. I mean even when the police is doing the right thing by the community

they still are targets for hate? I don't get it GJ. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :)
