Do you prefer heavy make-up or the natural look?

I very much prefer a woman's natural beauty instead of all that goop slopped all over her face.
I can't think of anything positive about a whole lot of makeup.

  • I little bit can be ok. You want to enhance what you have, not turn it into something else. :)

Both photos show makeup being worn, right?
Is less makeup the same as "natural"?

  • It is. Natural can mean very little make-up applied to the face. You just want to highlight what you already have.

Less is better for most of us.

To be clear though, don't kid yourself that the girl in the right hand photo has no make-up on.  She does.  Most women don't have flawless skin like that in nature so she is likely wearing a good foundation.  She has some neutral toned eye shadow on and definitely a nice shade of lipstick.

The idea of applying make-up IS to look natural and to enhance your best features.

Thanks, you validate what I thought I saw. I'm an average guy and even I could tell the photo on the right features makeup.

Thanks Randy.  I always feel bad for women that don't quite understand that what they see in magazines are highly made up and retouched, even if the girl looks like she just walked out of the shower.  People make good money to produce those images, not to say you really do have to start with someone that is highly photogenic.

  • I heard once that the best make-up job looks like no make-up. I tend to agree with that. :)

  • I don't wear it as much as I used to. I never wore a lot to begin with.

A more natural look.  I wear a little makeup for work.  On the weekends, just a bit of blush and some lipstick.

  • I have pretty much stopped wearing it altogether. Maybe just for special occasions these days.

I wear it for work - looks more professional.  Otherwise, I don't even bother.

I'm mostly wearing the natural look myself. I don't mind others using make-up if they can wear it as their own expression. The imitations are bad however. Each should find their own expression because they feel good about themselves the way they look.
