Sure.  I studied marine biology in college, worked as a fisherman, an aquaculturist, and a marine biologist for the federal government.  In the latter job I studied marine-related water development projects such as harbor expansion and beach restoration projects. I've been on four manned submersible dives into the deep ocean; I am also a certified scuba instructor. This post was edited by CallMeIshmael at January 24, 2017 1:21 PM MST

  • That is fantastic!
I've always dreamt of going underwater inside any kind of submersible apparatus.
I am truly impressed. It's always amazing to me to learn about the things that people do or have done, of which we have no idea. Just the other day I learned of a dear friend who makes magazine cover kind of cakes, and another who has walked on a hot volcano. And you, underwater manned submersible dives! That's some National Geograpic stuff right there!
Thanks for answering. I really appreciate it.

    Making custom draperies.

    Water law.

    Refinishing wooden furniture.

    Antique tapestries.

I know more about many things than most people.  Smart people never call themselves experts.

  • What is Water Law?

(Refinishing wooden furniture. I do like that, although I would hardly consider myself an expert. I do have quite a few pieces of furniture around the house built by me. Some of them look like they came out of a Dr Seuss book, but others are pretty alright!)

Sorry for the delayed response, I missed your post earlier.

A growing area in the practice of law..........states are fighting about rights to water.  There were long term agreements which have or are expiring and now it's a huge problem.

  • Ah, isn't it crazy how in this day an age people find themselves litigating over water rights?
That world itself!! Is in such a precarious situation about water availability?!?!
It's almost like saying we're running out of breathable air.
That's very interesting T, Thank you for writing. I didn't know there was a branch of Law, dedicated to that.

Motorcycles are my specialty. I have been a motorcycle shop owner and collected olde bikes. I even had parts to an HRD Vincent at one time. This post was edited by B.H.Wilson at January 16, 2017 6:57 AM MST

  • That's great BH,
I was talking with my friend Lucia about getting a motorcycle this year.
You see, it is a big step for me because I broke a couple of bones a while back and became afraid of riding. I couldn't get past 45 miles per hour without panicking and thinking I was going to die.
I suppose I don't care about it anymore.
    Do you ride?

I stopped riding after 45 years because the area I live in is full of deer. I hit one with my car and have had some close calls with the motorcycle.

At 100 mph, the engine rpm was about 2500. (big twin)
