Everyone does a stupid thing here and there regardless of their IQ. Goofiness and IQ are a humorous mix sometimes.
Common sense isn't always something extremely intelligent people possess. They might just be "book smart" and able to memorize information. The ability to have and use common sense is usually something you're born with. It's difficult to acquire.
