In a previous life (or so it seems) I had to do image processing work on TIFF files. Part of the spec for these is that the second word in the TIFF header is always 42. This number was chosen "for it's deep philosophical importance". The designers cited "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" in their design references.
Once there was whimsy, even in Computer filespecs.
That is a tough one. In the sense of "of it" it can still be "it's" although I agree that is now obsolete in most usages of English. On the same basis "of Randy" which is currently "Randy's" will become Randys eventually. Its rather sad.
