  • As long as we're making a  reference to FDR, I'm more inclined to think of his old campaign song:"Happy Days Are Here Again."

We put up with Obozo for eight years, so now you can put up with Trump for as long as he lasts. The country is collapsing, has been since WW2, so it doesn't really matter.

I think it has been collapsing since The Depression. No, WWI. Wait, no the Civil War. Maybe the War of 1812. It was all downhill after the French and Indian War.

Enough already. Our country being attacked and brought into a war it tried to stay out of, is a very far cry from a president being elected that you don't like. I agree Trump is a pompous ass, but for all of the whining going on and on it needs to stop. Grow the F__k up people. If you don't like his policies, be an adult and start writing those who represent you in the senate and the house. Write your state legislators as well. Let them know where you stand. They represent you, so let them know who they are representing and what is expected of them. And another Trump didn't win so much as Hillary lost. Then Dems put up a candidate that the majority of this country didn't trust. And don't give me this "But Hillary won the popular vote" line. There are still 6.8 million people who vote for third parties, because they actually understand that both major parties put bad choices for presidents

It seems to me every election people keep voting for who they think is the lesser of the two evils. And then the Democrats and Republicans look for candidates to see how far they can take it. All the while screwing over the American citizens. We are all paying for it now.

I'm a Brit and only peripherally involved (although I lived in your wonderful country for a while).

But...... that is the most rational observation on the whole sorry mess I have seen.

I wish I could claim we did it any better, but I'm not that good a liar. This post was edited by Plingsby at January 24, 2017 1:21 PM MST
