The only thing that I can think of that I would have changed would be that I would work less and spend more
time with my girls. I think their lives would have been different as well as my own.
Invest in AOL and then get out early. Then invest in Apple around 2000.

That's fairly close to the age when I began having those sorts of feelings too.
That desire to cease experiencing anything at all.
I can say that in adulthood I've learned to overcome the worst of it and can now enjoy life most of the time.
There's a group you can contact on-line, called The Samaritans, who are excellent at helping with issues of despair, depression, and suicide, at no cost and with no religious agenda.

What a tough time that was, all those speculative bubbles and so many that burst. It was hard for almost everyone to guess which would succeed and which flop.
Wonderful! I love that. I really believe all of us would be happier and better off this way.

It seems kids take ages to grow up as each new difficult phase starts
and then suddenly its all gone in a flash
and one really gets it how precious every moment is.
