I took a plane trip to Cardiff, Wales, UK. to meet a female friend. That was maybe March 2012 and went again November of that same year. I was 42 years old.

  • I think you mentioned her a few weeks ago. She must be a nice lady. You were even later than me -- I was 22 and it was a short flight.

Yes I do remember, it was my first flight and my only flight. I was under 5yrs old. It was my uncle's plane. I don't know where we were or where we went. It was a small plane.
I remember looking out at the tiny people and seeing a harvest moon.

I took my young son and daughter up on a short flight with the local airport operator. A few years later, he took a few friends up on a short flight. Then the plane crashed, killing all 6 on board.

  • The first time I traveled by airplane I was 1, and no, I don't remember it; it was early 1993. I went to Australia and Hawaii as part of my dad's business trip.

  • I once saw a little kid, about 4 years old, get on a plane, all excited. His mother managed to get him to sleep and he missed the entire trip. I wanted to kick her butt, he was so disappointed.

(I'll bet the other passengers certainly appreciated it, though.)

    You don't know that.

She may have been flying over some real estate that belonged to Rocky at the time. It could have been Rocky's Alpaca Ranch somewhere in the Rocky mountains.

Yes, I was but a youngster, probably no older than 8. It was a short site-seeing jaunt in a Bell 47G helicopter, the one with the big plastic bubble for a cockpit.

The most memorable was a leisurely trip around the DC beltway in Shamu. That was cool. This post was edited by Salt and Red Pepper at January 27, 2017 9:25 PM MST

  • It would have been very cool. I've never had the opportunity to fly in a copter.

Oh gosh yes.  I was 21.  We were poor college kids but wanted to go to Europe.  We found  an unbelievably cheap student rate for a flight from  NYC to Luxembourg by way of Iceland.  Yes, you read that correctly.  It was Icelandic Airway.  The story of getting to NYC from the University of Alabama in a Pinto is a story all by itself.

To this day, if I can drive to my destination, that is my transportation method of choice.  I hate everything about flying.  I know my flying days are not over but traveling between the East and West Coast no longer forces me into the air.  I'm retired and don't care how long it takes.  The trip is always part of the fun. • That must have been a great adventure. Certainly an unusual airline to travel with. I'm not particularlyu fussed about flying: I enjoy the rush at take-off but once the thing is in the air it's much like a bus ride ... unless, of course, you've got a window seat and an interesting view below.

One time, flying from the west coast, I passed some time calculating how long it would take us to hit the deck if the engines failed.

Perhaps you would enjoy this; Google; 'aircraft crash videos'.

It doesn't sound like something I would enjoy.  I still every now and then replay in  my mind the crash scene in Alive.  That serves as continuing reinforcement.  :)
