When somebody asks you how its going, do you usually counter with How do you think its going?

? It would be the next most logical progression of an answer in sequence.

  • My stock standard reply is, "Great, mate. How about you?"

    The unfortunate outcome of that is that sometimes, somebody will actually tell you how they are. And they're usually the type of person who will bend your ear for ages. 

    One of the poets put it best. He wrote,
    Don't tell your friends about your indigestion;
    "How are you?" is a greeting, not a question.
