Are OBVIOUS conflicts of interest actually legal in US politics?

In Australia a politician  is actually required to abstain from voting on bills that could present a conflict of interest. However, Tronald Dump's Muslim ban excludes persons from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Lebanon, despite every single foreign terrorist action on US soil (including 9/11) being perpetrated by citizens of these countries. Could this be because he does business there?

They are the countries the Obama administration identified as a threat. In fact Trump's EO only specifically mentioned one country, Syria.
I don't know why Obama and Congress did not include these other countries.

Identifying a country as a possible threat falls a LONG way short of banning travel from there. Paricularly as it's being applied to green card holders (legal residents) and exisitng visa holders as well. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at January 30, 2017 6:05 PM MST

The green card holders should have been excluded... that was wrong.  Visa holders were excluded....

Amazing how you answered this question by referring to Obama. Equally amazing how you didn't even answer the question as asked.

Try again. Does your boy do busness there? Tough one, huh?

Trump's EO did not mention 7 countries.....the countries are listed from Obama's EO.  Saying they are a threat of terrorists using the refugee status to get in and we cannot properly vet them. Trump is simply saying they are not coming in until we have a way to vet them.
Obama banned ALL Iraqis in 2011 because terrorists came in as refugees....same thing.

Another point to be noted is all those involved in the havoc were muslim American citizens but Trump's EO doesn't ban this category!
