  • Oh about 11 years ago.   Was introduced by friends at a party and decided to exchange numbers.  Hung out a few times at each others places and then decided to go out on a public date.  One of the worst nights of my life. :(

You know?  I still don't remember any of this.  Maybe we should try now that I am sober.

Oh. One should think after visiting each other first that the date would go fine.

  • So did I.   Some people are different animals out in public I guess.   It was horrible.   Police were called,  I was temporarily banned from a place I frequented and knew everyone who worked at ,  she got taken away in handcuffs, and I had to walk 3 miles home.

Oh my. That's a horrible date, almost a big laugh looking back at it. Sorry. *giggles*

  • It's funny now.   Though after all these years I never been able to fully grasp what in the hell got the snowball rolling that night.  In a flash I found myself in total chaos.  It was when I was finally clean of some bad habits for awhile and trying to expand my life past that point and I just didn't know she had a history of problems and no one felt like they should tell me.

Now that's bad judgement by those setting you up first place. Meh.

  • Well in all fairness they didn't actually set us up.  We just happened to be at the same place with a few mutual friends and got to talking because of that.

A long time ago, I had a girlfriend that thought it would be nice to fix me up for a date for a big New Years night out.  I agreed and she introduced me to a guy that was an acquaintance of hers.

We all met as a group at a local restaurant first before going to our destination.  The guy seemed nice enough and he asked if I would like to ride with him after we were done our dinner.  I said that would be fine.  So before he even started the car, he whips out a mirror and begins to snort a line of coke.   I was horrified since I never did such a thing and he didn't seem to have any qualms about me sitting there watching him.  He did offer to "share" which I declined of course.  I was speechless and said nothing the whole ride out.  I spent the rest of the night keeping my distance from him.  I don't think he cared either since he was in his own little world.

Needless to say, my girlfriend at that time got an earful.

Oh boy. I think, I would have refused driving with him. Luckily it ended good. What a horrible situation. Oomph.

An older, more assertive me would have.  I cringe too thinking about how I did nothing except feel incredibly scared as he drove.

I think we all have done, or participated in something we don't approve today.

I had a guy that got so drunk that I had to drive him home and I didn't know where he lived.
I had a general idea of the area but didn't know which house was his.
I was able to keep him awake long enough to point which way to go and then he would pass out again.
It was a nightmare. If it were to happen now I would have left him in the car to sleep it off and taken a cab home.

What a way to end a date, and yes we do luckily get better to handle awkward situations as we grow up. :-)
