The owner of another social site just joined to promote theirs and I suspended them. They want to know why I closed their account. What should I tell them?

I won't say who it was, but this isn't the first one who has done that, but this is the first one to use their real name while doing it.

Success is built on helping others and not from fear. My business is thriving and I help all my competitors. I am never afraid of them, business comes back 7 fold when we are kind to everyone.

In this world of 7 billion people there is never a reason to fear when we are in business if we are reputable. I actively refer people to other businesses because my business is not always the best for a particular person. And I have waiting lists because I am too busy. Many of my competitors are worried and don't have enough business. The reason I believe is because God has blessed me abundantly, and their reputation is not spotless like mine. I do what is best for others, NOT myself. God rewards me. If they are worried I would tell them that I can help them and I would advertise for them.

I don't know where you're getting "fear" from. Like I said, I leave it up when real members talk about other sites. I remove people who come here to spam. If it was fear, all references to other sites would be gone.

Gall would be a good one too.  Well, I guess if you're sending them a link to this question, they'll get your "gall" and my "balls" plus a lot more.

The suspense is just killing me.....I wanna know.  Well if someone's willing to sneak up on her left, I'll sneak to her right and we can take her by surprise and force it out of her.

That's spamming, isn't it?  So you had every right to close their account.  They should already know that.  Self-promotion isn't allowed on most sites.

If he doesn't understand why you suspended him, he'll NEVER get it.   But, give this a try..   The site makes money from advertising.  Tell him, that if he wants to advertise, he has to PAY..

I would do it! Haha  TOS serves a purpose. Even that site has a TOS I'm willing to bet!  ;) 

You certainly are wise with your decision to not allow the spam here.  

He is going to TALK bad anyway.   If he tells the truth, which he won't; it does matter that people know what an IDIOT he is for trying this on someone else's dime.

Also, he is getting the boot.  That does not lend well to his testimony to anything positive about his site. 

Also, anyone that would try and promote his site without permission would sink to anything to get his name in lights at the expense of other sites.  So, it matters little why in the end.  He has to go.  I wouldn't have even bothered to answer him.  JA is professional and nice.
