In the olden days Senators referred to one another as "the distinguished Senator from _____". Now they say "sit down and shut up!" WHY?

That was what  McConnell told Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren indirectly. Sit down and shut up. Further she has been "red-carded" which means she is not allowed to participate in any of the Jeff Sessions Confirmation Hearings.  Things are going very bad very fast. All thanks to whom d'ya suppose?

    “The senator has impugned the motives and conduct of our colleague from Alabama, as warned by the chair,” Mr. McConnell began, alluding to Mrs. King’s letter, which accused Mr. Sessions of using “the awesome power of his office to chill the free exercise of the vote by black citizens.”

    Mr. McConnell called the Senate to order under what is known as Rule XIX, which prohibits debating senators from ascribing “to another senator or to other senators any conduct or motive unworthy or unbecoming a senator.”

    I don't believe that's the same thing, Rosie.

  • In the olden days Senators challenges each other to duals, fist fought, and pulled guns on each other.
