We've all heard the comment, "s/he is only happy when s/he has something to complain about."

Do you know somebody like that? Is the comment literally true? How do you respond to them?

  • Boy....do I ever know someone like that! Always complaining about something! Usually about her work and the people she works with....every conversation always ends up with her complaining!

  • Hey Didge, good to see you here. Just wanted to bid you and some of the other old partners a fond adieu. After some time here bouncing about this site, my patience for it and intent toward continuing on it are now nonexistent. Just a lousy site.
Hope to see you "elsewhere". -Z This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 9, 2017 10:29 PM MST

  • Then, I imagine, we would be the complainers and we would become the problem. :)

  • A friend of mine gave me the perfect answer to this situation ... And it works ... I just say, with a slight menacing tone, either shut up or do something about it!

    Literally true is a positive.

  • Is it? When that sort of behaviour is literally true it's anything but positive.

I guess you heard the story about the teacher who told his class, "Two negatives can make a positive but two positives can never make a negative." And one of the kids said, "Yeah, right."

  • My mother is that person who isn't happy unless she's complaining. I could be a doctor and she would complain I wasn't a surgeon.

  • I couldn't possibly imagine who you mean. I did hear a rumour that she was already here. Will probably mind her manners till she finds a few allies.

  • I did see one former Blurter (at least, I expect it was considering the people she has friended) who has marked her profile "Private". I guess that's her. Sorry, I forget the name. I don't even want to know her.

  • It's on Virginia's horizon but she has other things on her mind just now. Maybe in a couple of months. Maybe not.
