Do you go through life convinced that your way is always the best?

  • Not exactly but I go through life thinking that I'll be able to find the most appropriate stance. That stance has changed many times over the years.

  • Oh, yeah. Somebody once quipped that life gives the examination first and the lessons later.

Yes of course but appearing for an exam knowing all answers is no fun....the stress at that point of time is essential I feel.

    Clever answer.

I once had a final in graduate school that I actually studied for...  68 true-false questions....  Fifteen people in the class....i finished in 20 minutes...The next guy in 40....The 3rd in 2 hours....

I was afraid I blew it....  Called the teaching assistant the next day to ask him....  He laughed....  Told me I missed 4 answers....  He, the assistant, missed 20....  The professor gave both him and me A's...threw out our grades...and curved the rest....

That was almost 50 years ago....

I know you were kidding in your answer, but actually knowing all the answers when it counts is a wonderful feeling also.

Hi Tom Jackson...very interesting anecdote ....that was brilliant not only did you finish in 20 minutes but missed just 4, no I wasn't kidding, my father a strict disciplinarian made us work hard....so I know it was the stress that brought out the best in us siblings.

I take a common sense approach to life, I also live and let live.

Far from it. I'm not at all, and far from convinced my way is the best. It works for me, but...

    Pretty much...

And at 71, in retrospect, a large majority of people who should know would in fact agree with my assessment....
