Have your kids ever outsmarted you?

One of my kids used to cut the grass to get extra pocket money but one week he was in bed, ill, so I cut it. When I came back indoors he asked for his money. "What are you talking about? I cut it." And he grinned at me and said, "Aren't I entitled to sick pay?" (And before you ask, yes, I gave it to him. Chutzpah should be encouraged.)

What have your kids done to you?

  • The wonderful thing about being retired is that all my weekends are seven days long. :)

  • Uncertain.  This is the result of piddling away one's young adulthood and not pursuing a degree or developing marketable skills or knowledge. Decades of low paying dead end jobs. Decades of poor fiscal responsibility and no future planning.

  • Thanks, Pearl. That little boy has kids and grand kids of his own now. I hope. I hope they all paid him back for me.
