As long as my hands are clean. Can't eat sushi, ribs, or popcorn with a fork.

Agree, certain foods make it necessary but people usually panic if they don't get hold of a spoon or fork;))

Even if their hands are clean, people usually refuse to use bare hands, instead they will seek a spoon or fork....isn't that a common tendency Didge?

Only when they're not washed first.

Hi Randy, even with washed hands, one prefers to use a spoon and fork, why?

    Different cultures, that's why.

My wife is Asian, and she had to adjust to a lot of new things when she came to the States.  The experience of eating with the hands enhances the taste of the food and contributes to the enjoyment of a meal, among other reasons for doing it. I, however, was unaccustomed to it and it took some getting used to.

Yes, I remember you telling me about her when we were on AB. It is really tough, I understand Randy.

"Tough"?  No, no, my friend: it's been wonderful, the blending of our cultures. I've traveled extensively throughout the world, and I love learning the ways of people with background different than my own. I hope I didn't sound as if I was complaining, because it was certsinly not my intention. Being married to her is one of the best parts of my life, truly!

Yes, I remember you were stationed in Asian region. No, you weren't complaining at all, my friend, but it is tough for a westerner to do certain things which come easily to an Asian,..eating with hand, sitting cross legged...eating spicy food;)))

Not if they are washed, I do however prefer eating with tools. Except, some food cannot be eaten any other way. Ahem. :-)
