Discussion»Questions»Human Behavior» Why do we laugh at things that aren't funny? "Nervous" laughter? What is that all about and where does it come from?
It is and it isn't. It happens a lot more than we realize. Usually it occurs when someone is in a situation that has a high degree of emotional distress to it. It's a defense mechanism against anxiety.
