Apart from the alarm clock, what sound are you likely to hear on first waking? What would you like to hear?

For me it's often the sound of a kookaburra laughing; sometimes there are several calling to each other.

  • I too hear birds.  I like to think their singing is songs saluting and praising my awakening.

PS. I'm concerned, deeply concerned, your avatar is promoting bad manners to impressionable young site users.

  • My cat complaining that I've disturbed it from where it's been pressed against me sleeping ... As I get up to go to work and that lazy bugger goes back to sleep ... I tell you evolution is all wrong... Cats are in charge and they have raised us up to be better servents!

We have three dogs now, and all three snore.. so first sound I hear is the dogs snoring.

I did at one time.  The sound of a fog horn, sea gulls ocean waves were all comforting.  Really miss living there.
