Yes they do. North Korea is run by sadistic scum who use a communist model to criminally consolidate wealth for themselves. North Korea is a business and businesses exist to benefit themselves. The leadership is a parasite that depends on keeping its host weak but ALIVE. As atheists they see no possible victory in death. We're under far greater threat from nutcases who believe that death will bring them paradise with 72 virgins.

Even if you're right, what can we do about it? Are saying we should preemptively nuke them? That's cowardly and genocidal. Are you saying we should invade preemptively, kill millions of North Koreans and risk them nuking Seoul?

    Hello Harry and Z:

North Korea is a PRISON masquerading as a country.  To think, that THEY think, like we think, is unthinkable.

Human nature is the same everywhere. The enslaved masses don't count. They're not making the decisions. The ruling class have survived this long because they have an instinct to survive. If they wanted to commit suicide by attacking us they would've done it already. This post was edited by Zeitgeist at March 9, 2017 11:00 AM MST

  • Calling North Korea an atheist nation is misleading though.    They are  manipulated to deify their Leaders and worship them and the DPRK as divine.  The State, The Leader, and the Party is their religion and are taught the nobility of dying for it.  They absolutely see victory in death.  The Leader is a divine martyr and The Party is  the religion.

I agree, Glis. Dictatorial political regimes typically resemble religion. The leaders face is everywhere.

  • They even teach that The Leader is divine and given by divine intervention.  That's religion.
It's even illegal to stand in front of The Leaders' images if it blocks the view of anyone else in any way.

Also, it's still the leader the Soviets put in power, Kim Il Sung, who is regarded as the leader, even though he has been dead since 1994.

Zeitgeist pretty much summed it up. The North Koreans are trying to look tough, but I don't believe they really want to risk war.

The leader of North Korea doesn't give a damn about anybody but himself.  So no, he doesn't care if his country gets nuked - as long as he thinks he can survive it.  Thus, the best "counter measure" in his case is a suicide squad dedicated to assassinating him.
