  • Sounds as though there's been a bit of discovery there.

Yep. I surprised myself with that one.

  • I can relax on this site and not have to listen to people complaining about spam or what other people have said. A year ago, I was a Mod. I'm glad to be on a site and just enjoy myself without all the damn drama.

  • It's gotta be good to put that behind you. It's rare to find a site where the denizens don't blame the mods for their own shortcomings.

  • You got that right! Sometimes there are minor scuffles here but the Mods do a great job. I'm so glad to not have to listen to that crap day in and day out!

  • Rooster, I am pleased to hear your assessment of the moderation here, since I am impressed also. However, I don't know much about moderation except that I have learned it is extremely important.

And it is wonderful that you are content now, you are one of the online friends I cherish, and so very glad to know. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at March 8, 2017 5:26 PM MST

  • Is this a very young John Wayne? Hard for me to recognize him...as we discussed on Blurt, I paid no attention to him whatever until his magnificent rendering of THE SHOOTIST, by then he was well along in years...

I remember feeling like John Ford supposedly said of him after RED RIVER 1948..."I didn’t know the big sonova* could act." And I saw Red River too, in a Howard Hawks film series around 1964...but so taken with Montgomery Clift I still did not notice John Wayne!

  • Yes, it's from his first starring role in 1939. Stagecoach.

Well now I can play a lead air guitar last year I could only play a bass air guitar. Now I'm thinking of learning how to play a double neck air guitar or an air triangle. Just goofing around. Cheers!

  • By this time next year you'll be able to play every instrument in the band. :)

That seems a little un realistic - it will probably take me  a year to learn how  to play the air percussion instruments then two or three years to learn how to play the air brass instruments maybe longer if I include an air tuba. Cheers!

I can drink the water from my kitchen faucet. When we moved here in 1948 my father had to haul drinking water from another town two miles away. I have never understood why he settled in this stinkhole instead of the other one where they had clean water and other signs of civilization.

  • Doesn't sound like the best choice. Glad you can drink it now.
