Can ordinarily average people be just as evil as those who are very much smarter? The smarter you are the eviler you are?

Is there any connection between brains and personality/character? What and why?

  • Sorta.   Dark triad personality disorders and some other cluster B personality disorders often have a high intelligence characteristic.
Though I would surmise that it's being manipulative and calculating that develops the intellect rather than the other way around.

That's partly why the old alien believer idea that advanced civilizations that could travel here would likely be peaceful because of there higher intellect was always BS to me. We are the most advanced species we know about. So we only have ourselves to base it on.   Our history shows suggests knowledge and intellect doesn't ever preclude evil committed  by a group on lower cognitive species or there cognitive equals.

I have often found ordinarily average people to be irrational, illogical and many times cruel and petty. I would not trust them on a jury deciding my fate and neither should you. People having these negative traits may not be as smart as they think they are and as smart as you think they are. This post was edited by O-uknow at March 17, 2017 7:46 AM MDT

How do YOU know how smart I think they are O? You are surmising/assuming something not in evidence. So you prefer smart/intelligent/rational/logical evil to irrational/illogical/cruel/petty? Why?  Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday.

No, not necessarily, because character and intellect are not directly correlated to each other.

Could a smarter/more intelligent evildoer do more harm than one who was less intellectually gifted? Thank you for your reply Randy and Happy Friday.
