I actually had Spam sandwiches packed in my school lunches back in the 50's. In fact, I have some here at home to enjoy. It is made of pork shoulder meat. Hey, if people eat a pigs' a$$, better known as ' ham', why not the shoulder? Besides, back in WW2, when my father fought the Nazis in order to keep America great, he relied on Spam (and sardines) to give him some meat during battle.
