No I never have :) but I was told if ate Apple seeds would grow a tree in my tummy :) ... Never tasted or had a watermelon , ever .... And I only consume crushed grapes ;p WINE! :)
Yes Veena.K, I was told that ALL the time as a youngster...however that is one story I never bought into...
Unlike my father's promise that I should eat the burnt toast because it would give me chest lettuce. Well I ate a lot of burnt toast, in high hopes, but 70 years on now and still waiting for the chest lettuce to appear...
Hi Randy D, and Veena.K too...actually I thought "chest lettuce" was an All-American term...however, maybe it is peculiar to Southwest Washington timber country...because, you see, this wonderful thing that my father was promising me if I would eat the burnt toast....wait for it...
Ah....no but how could that be, Virginia..? Maybe answermug is tipsy...;)) i face a lot of problems too....I type right, but foolish words get printed and I must erase it and retype....I think the notification is malfunction of the highest order!
Veena, I have not noticed such problems as the words coming out different from what I type, that is very frustrating! ...although it does seem that with every Q/A program there are some 'bugs.'
Most US children are told that from a very young age by their parents, so yes, I used to believe it was true when I was little. I was afraid to drink any water after swallowing a seed because I thought that germination would begin immediately.
No. As a kid though I stuck a bean in me sister's ear after hearing an urban myth about about someone having it done and it growing into their brain.
