Can you name a food that people either love or hate (i.e. it tends to be polarizing)?

What are some polarizing foods? Foods that people never seem to be "so-so" about:

I'll start:

tofu

People seem to either think tofu is glorious or think it's gag-worthy. I happen to love it. Just ate stir-fried tofu with teriyaki sauce :)

Another example:

candy corn

Nobody "kinda likes" candy corn. You either can't stop snacking on it or you think it's disgusting.

Keep in mind this question is meant to be light-hearted. I'm sure there are people with mild opinions of any of these :)

  • I saw it for sale at Raley's the other day and I can't believe anyone but British or Australian expats buy it. Seems so gross to me. But to be fair, I've never tried it.

  • It's pretty good actually.   Very, very small amounts go a long way.
It kinda has a meat broth like taste to it.

    SWEETBREADS

I saw this article online...oh, please, my topsy-turvy tummy!

"We started with grilled octopus and with mushroom and Marmite ... the tentacle came nicely caramelised on the outside..."

    Hi Nevan~  LIVER and ONIONS!
People either love it or hate it.

Personally, I could go my entire life and never smell, look, or taste liver on a plate for the rest of my life!

    ICK!  ICK! ICK!

Hi Virginia~  You are welcome anytime.  And if, by chance, there are any cows around our camp with calves, they can keep their livers in their bodies and use them throughout the duration of their lives. Big smiles!

  • Me too.   We're a very  small group though.
It's important to get a fresh bag though.    When they are still nice and orangey soft. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at March 23, 2017 2:19 PM MDT

  • I am a picky eater and hate almost everything (supposedly) edible, but I have made pickled eggs and they are tolerable, I think mostly because of the beautiful color!
