Sounds like Adelaide, Australia (my home town). Temperatures in excess of 105 degrees in summer are not uncommon, but it's a dry heat. Mediterranean climate - never rains in summer, never stops raining in winter (we don't get snow).
Yeah I did like that when I was out there. I missed my snowshoeing, hunting, and ice fishing though. I liked Cali on a few things but there was something missing for me. LA area was the first time I was in a city where I said " yeah I might be able to do this" though.
My ex and I had plans on moving to California. It seemed like a nice choice being a gay couple. Enjoying the outside without wearing too much of clothing and so on. Ahem.

I wouldn't want to live in any state other than California. If I live in the U.S., then I'm living in California.
As for other countries, I wouldn't mind living in Australia, Spain, Italy, or Japan :)

Hi Rooster, I have loved New Mexico... Also, I find California, the whole state, one of the most fascinating and beautiful places on Earth. My hesitation is that I am clearly not the first person to think of that, and prefer smaller populations along with lower cost of living!
