I met a man in Nashville TN on Music Row one night. He asked for some money. He told me he was from Greenwood MS and his wife just left him and took everything he had. He was friendly and kind of comical. I made him promise he wasn't lying to me. I gave him some money. Six months later I'm in Memphis TN on Beal St. Guess who I see walking the street asking for money? He remembered me and I remembered him. He didn't ask me for any money. He just grinned when I reminded him of Nashville.

    Some are professional beggars.

Yes I'm sure that's true. The worst of them would be the ones who lives in nice homes, drive nice cars, have good jobs and just do it as a sideline job! :( Thank you for your reply catch224U and Happy Thursday!

I live close to the place I once worked at.  We also live by a fast food place.  If someone asks for money for food, I will offer to buy them something to eat.  If they refuse I direct them to the Mission or other places I know of that serves meals.

That's very good and kind of yo u SA. If someone is truly hungry I would not begrudge him/her some food. If they refuse your kind offer of buying them something to eat you know the money will used for something else. Thank you for your reply! :)
