Why does it seem that torture involving teeth and fingers is the worst?

Like if I'm watching a movie, the one thing I can never watch is a torture scene involving teeth or fingers (or eyes for that matter). Anything else I can watch and just kind of cringe.
Is it because it's not so lethal but more painful? Just thinking about it makes me sick. In fact, I feel like a freak just asking this question.

  • Eyes and teeth are like that for me too.   I almost lost my left eye as a child from it getting stabbed from a metal rod so there's that.

Teeth and eyes are just so damn sensitive and painful.

  • When I read Marathon Man and the guy was tortured with a dentist's drill I cringed all the way through it. I think it goes right back kto our childhood fear of dentists. Reading about fingers, fingernails, and eyes is pretty bad but doesn't give me the same degree of horror.

I always cry when I go to the dentist because I'm so scared. It's embarrassing. Thankfully I had to be knocked out to get my wisdom teeth removed and was high as a kite afterwards, but I remember being terrified and started to panic a little when the dentist appeared. They had to go cutting into my gums to get the ones that hadn't emerged yet. Yuck!

It probably would have hurt if I wasn't drugged up. The thing that bugged me the most was the stitches in my gums, it was so gross.

  • I always thought anything pushed under the finger nails would be the worst. Im pretty sure it is not, but those are the ones that make me cringe the most.

Those kinds of movies I can't watch. But I do think torture involving the eyes would be the worst.

I only watch them if I think it looks like a bad horror movie to make fun of.

  • Maybe it's because that's what is the old go-to's and film makers aren't creative about it enough for red-hot coat hanger catheters and ear drum drilling.

  • After just having my lower bridge removed and oral surgery to fix a crack in my jaw this last Wednesday? It's teeth all the way. Already missing an eye but damn! When they work on your teeth and jaw? It's downright horrible. Today is the first day I almost feel human again! So just the thought of anything to do with teeth right now just bugs the hell out of me!
